Lindahl was engaged by EnergieKontor to provide a long-term energy yield assessment of the planned Withernwick Wind Farm Extension located in East Riding of Yorkshire. The project, consisting of four 2.05MW Senvion Wind Turbines, is located adjacent to the already operating Withernwick Wind Farm.
As a first step, we undertook a long-term energy yield assessment of the existing Withernwick Wind Farm based on a comprehensive analysis of three years of 10-minute SCADA statistics recorded at the 9 wind turbines, and long-term wind speed data obtained from a reanalysis data set.
In a second step, the results for the existing wind turbines were extrapolated to the locations and hub-heights of the planned extension turbines drawing on flow performance metrics from existing pre-construction energy yield reports. A detailed net energy yield prediction report for the extension, including quantification of confidence intervals, was issued to EnergieKontor within seven days of the initial engagement.
